The Road

The path through Oia takes you past all of the important stuff; first the Casa Puerta, then the restaurant, and then the Monastery of Oia.

300m beyond the Monastery the camino turns left to follow a coastal footpath and always keeping to the shoreline. You will eventually return to the road, and when you do the familiar bicycle path is there once more, follow it to the left and into Viladesuso.

We were stuck in a storm and needed to dry out.
We got excellent sandwiches, good drinks, and a fabulous view all for very reasonable prices just past the monastery right on the Camino. Just look up to your right!! An oasis in the storm!

We really needed to wash some clothes, and this is a perfect option if you’re staying in Oia! Washer and dryer, €4 each in coins. Detergent was mild and multiple options/settings took care of our technical fabrics. Good capacity and our Camino clothes were clean in less than 2 hours, perfect for the wait time before the restaurants open at 20:00. Nice experience overall, also with a vending machine. Opens at 9:00 and there’s a coffee machine too.

It was raining all day, we was totally wet. This alberge, help us to dry all clothes, we got welcome drink and tasty breakfast. Everything was included in price, no additional payment. Alberge very bright and very cute. Clean place and pleasure beds (not double) made our stay in very comfortable.

Had such a wonderful stay in Oia. Will definitely stay in Casa Picota again, the best albergue so far on the Camino. They take reservations. Sparkling clean. Rooms are big. Bathrooms big. Linen. Very comfortable. Beautiful view of the ocean. Hosts are super friendly and helpful.

La Cala was fully booked so we stayed in a big property called Casa Picota, a minute away from La Cala. They charge 30€ per person and each room has three beds. The price was worth every single penny! The views from this place are stunning. I felt like we were living in a painting. The house was extremely clean, modern, had a huge dining area and the hosts were super friendly and helpful.

Absolut empfehlenswert.
Fühle mich hier absolut wohl.

We arrived at La Cala Inn after a long walk from Vila do Praia Ancora and had a lovely stay. The room we were in (3 beds) had beautiful views of the sea and the town. At €20 it was a little on the expensive side, but we had free use of the washing machine and dryer as well as fresh pastries and coffee for breakfast - a bargain really.

Really beautiful town to stop off in. Could be a good option for a rest day.
