Price is very steep for what is given. The pool is a plus, however, everything else is meh. The beds are standard, no plugs for top bunks, wifi barely reaches the dorms and the bar is expensive for what it is. The owners seemed very tired when we arrived and the man had no respect for me and a few others who were sleeping when he came in with a booming voice showing others where to unpack. Woke us all up. I cannot comment on the meal as I went into the village for something cheaper. Washing costs 8 euros!

There are loads of places to choose from. I'd avoid this place if you can.

Our last night before arriving at Santiago was probably our most memorable and enjoyable of the Portuguese Coastal Camino. Our hosts at Albergue O Lagar do Jesus provided an exceptional evening. The property was magnificent, the wine and tapas around an open fire with other pilgrims was really enjoyable as was the included breakfast, but what really sets the albergue apart from others was the warmth of welcome and attention provided by our hosts. Highly recommended place to stay, and a quick trip on to Santiago in the morning.

Camino de Sant…

We just stayed at the above mentioned albergue right before Vilar, it was the perfect last albergue stay. My favorite since we left Lisbon.

Camino de Sant…

José runs an amazing and beautiful hostel in Vilar called O Lagar de Jesus. It’s right on the Camino path, and he serves tapas, beer, etc. We stopped just for coffee and a bite, and when I told him I want to learn to make Spanish tortilla, five minutes later he invited us into the kitchen and taught me! Well recommended if you need a stop before the remaining ~20km to Santiago.
