I loved how welcoming the monks were inviting us to Vespers, dinner, Compline and breakfast. The mass, Vespers and Compline are presented in a mixture of Basque, Spanish and Latin in a very beautiful way. The grounds are beautiful and the church spectacular!

One monk also popped Blisters on both of my feet. It reminded me of Christ washing his disciples feet.

Loved my stay!

Enjoyed my stay, lovely having a group meal outside in the sun ( or inside if yr unlucky )
Can buy beer and wine in the shop before 7pm handy as no taverna nearby.

Other places relying on donations have the donation box at the check-in. Here there are donation boxes outside the rooms. By the time you’ve walked passed them a few times you cease to notice them. That is why I and probably others completely forgot to give a donation.
I’m going to send a mail and hopefully donate via a transfer.

The monks are very friendly and welcoming. There is no formal registration. There’s usually a monk in the shop and shows you the dorm. You can get the stamp in the shop.
The room upstairs is rustic with bun beds (no ladder) and a small kitchenette.
They open the room downstairs when there is enough ppl. Downstairs is a boiler room where u can dry clothes and shoes. Bathroom is outside the sleeping area.
Dinner is good and plenty.
You can take part at the mess/prayer chanting which is a humbling experience.

Check in / stamps at mini shops at 15:30, but sometime the monk will come late. you can buy their home brew beer and other cool Camino stuff there. When getting stamps, a Monk gave each one of us a free Milka chocolate too!

The sleeping place is behind the church with two rooms. Upstairs one has 9 beds but they usually just let 5 people in. It has a small kitchen area with microwave and kettle. But there’s no stair to the top bunk beds, also the room is rundown and a bit stinky compare to the downstair one (might just be because of the rainy day with fellow Pilgrims wet laundry). Downstairs one look nicer.

Dinner we shared a big plot of pasta with tomato sauce and bread.

Best part of this is the Vesper with the monk at 7:30 before dinner and blessing at 9:30. You have to attend it to experience the real pilgrimage!

This albergue is an actual pilgrim's refuge. They don't ask for specific donation but have a box inside the room, which is nicer than a fee. The place is welcoming, they offer you dinner, facilities and a ceremony at 930pm where they pray the pilgrim's blessing. The atmosphere is aligned with the camino experience contrasting with other albergues and hostels.

Great place to stay after a long day. The monks invited our group to watch their songs/prayers in evening, felt like traveling back in time, whether you are religious or not. Simple lovely food and facilities, and an amazing mountain view all evening. Also gives a great chance to spend time with the other pilgrims you have met on the way. And their home brewed beer was delicious! Highly recommended.

Camino de Sant…

Had a wonderful experience here! The place is simple, but offers all you need. Communal dinner at 8. Open for registration from 15.30 tot 19.00. No use in showing up earlier. They sell homebrewed beer in the shop, definitely recommended! No facilities near. Get a bed in the downstairs room. Way better than the one upstairs (which is also the kitchen).

A nice play to stay. Check in between 1545 and 1915. The bedrooms are very simple. You should also try the beer from the monastery, it can be bought at the monastery shop.
Dinner served at 20 by the monks, usually one dish, we had a soup with pasta and vegetables.
Those who are interested can follow the monks’ prayers at 1930 and 2130. The prayer at 2130 is really beautiful and the monks sing all in front of the altar with only the light of the candles to illuminate the beautiful church. Really suggestive even for those who are not religious.
You can also get the blessing of the pilgrim after the last prayer of the day.

Camino de Sant…

I spent a very relaxing and meditative day in the monastery. It's a peaceful space with unique rituals. Recommend for a simple evening.
