We had a lovely community dinner! So delicious! Shepherds Pie!!!! Really a warm and friendly environment. The welcoming people were so kind. The evening meditation was great. Just such a gentle and loving atmosphere. Many kind hearted volunteers working here.

I enjoyed my stay at Oasis Trails. The group in charge of the albergue definitely values the Christian faith, and every night there is a non-denominational Christian meditation service. I found it peaceful. Also, the dinner was delicious, and the hosts catered to my vegetarian needs!

I have made it to Santiago now, and looking back this was the best meal I had on the Camino. Besides being delicious, there were seconds for everyone, and a very friendly communal atmosphere. Great vegetarian option as well. The albergue building itself is cozy, and there is a lovely stone patio in the front. The family and volunteers at this albergue are very kind and hospitable. I enjoyed my stay very much.

felt as though they wanted to push their beliefs on the pilgrims

I had a nice stay in a room with 4 beds on the second floor with a balcony.
This albergue has 1 shower and 1 toilet for al the guests.
Bed with paper sheets is €12, diner €15. Diner was really nice. And for breakfast €5, you get a bag with breakfast in it.
The people of the community ate with the pelgrims and at 20.30 o clock there is a Jesus meditation. You are welcome to join if you want.

Other pilgrims have written that they didn’t feel this religious community pushed the Jesus stuff. I have to disagree. I felt quite uncomfortable during my stay, especially with the questioning (that felt more like an interrogation) by the international volunteers about my spiritual life. It felt very much like I was trying to be “saved.” I wouldn’t recommend the experience, especially for those who might have been hurt by religion in the past.

I have stayed here 3 times. I am planning a 4th stay in June ‘24. To me, this albergue is the essence of the Camino. It is run by a religious community but they don’t push it. I am an atheist but have always felt welcomed here. If you have time the climb to the castle behind the albergue is worth the effort.
