Totally worth heading for! The invitation is to join the nuns for evening prayers, where they sing beautifully and help you to join in. The Pilgrims blessings is more than a nod, they pray over each person, taking their time. A deep privilege. Morning prayers is also worth letting go of leaving early and joining in with their singing and prayers. Thankful for the nuns offering to be part of the Camino journey.

Great Donativo. Shared a 4 bed room with some guys. Even had our own little shower and toilet. Couldn’t have asked for a better first stay.
Laredo also celebrated Carlos V and so the streets were bustling with food and other vendor stalls.

You have to give your donation straight to the nun, so I felt bad about giving the minimum and ended up giving 15€. To be fair, the place is awesome. I was in a 4-bed with 3 other girls and we had a private bathroom with a tub! There was a small kitchen, but it was fully-equipped

Very nice Albergue run by nunns.
Rooms are only 2-6 ppl, clean and some with own bathroom.
No dinner.
Pilgrim blessing at 7pm was a very nice experience.

Cute little town with good restaurants.
Highly recommend LA BODEGA. Best lunch on the Camino so far!!

Such a warm welcome from the nuns and easy check-in. Three of us shared a cozy room. There was no dinner (we were there on Saturday night of Easter weekend). A simple and friendly breakfast with other pilgrims. The location is super. So many restaurants nearby.

August 2023.
First, the albergue was open (and just this seems a miracle..) 10€ per night with breakfast included (coffee/leche + a slice of homemade cake).
I think during the week it is also possible to have dinner but during the weekend the service is a bit limited.

Some restrictions on timing:
- no reservation
- open 14-17.45 and 19.30-21.00 (22.30 during weekend)
- between 17.45-19.30 there's the mess and a special pray for pilgrims
- breakfast from 7 to 8
- they do not allow you to leave before 6.30

I've read the different comments and was afraid it would be cold in various ways. Just across the street is the Pensión Esmeralda which gives a discount to pilgrims. Felt very welcome and paid €30 as a single person

It would appear that Covid has changed things a lot for the Camino. No meals on offer, a rather cold empty atmosphere. This was my first stay in an alburge as all that have been listed as open are closed, and then I'm finding others open that are not listed. I think I'm best to be kind to my ageing body and stay in pensions. I'll be posting my sleeping bag home to make my pack lighter.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The pilgrims’ blessing after mass and during the prayer service the next morning was very moving. They do not do the communal dinner in Saturdays, which we were sorry to miss.

Currently curfew at 22.30. Check in times 15-17:45 and 19:45-21:00.
Very nice place, with a garden. Two separate parts for pilgrims, one that is a big dormitorio and one with separate rooms of 4 or 6 (with bathrooms). No dinner as of today.
