After reading the 20 May comment above we decided to give it a try after crossing over from the coastal route. We were the first to arrive followed by 2 more gentlemen traveling individually and a younger couple. Spacious, clean, old world.feel. A bottom sheet and warm blanket were provided. Bottom bunks are normal length but not much space to sit up.
The range didn't work but we managed dinner with the microwave. Cafes nearby and lots of great sights and restaurants just over the bridge. The Sr who received us at 2pm was very nice. He told us that there is a mass with a Pilgrim blessing each night Mon -Sat at 7pm at the Sao Antonio church which is a beautiful church a little off the Camino path.
Ps As the previous pilgrims mentioned, the shower is communal and doesn't lock. My husband and I took turns standing guard. It was not a problem as there were few guests. Blessings!

We got here about 5:30 and are the only people here. Clean and airy with communal shower. We think it’s run by the local church. Brilliant!! Hard to find though. Turn left before the river and through the gates of the building at the end. There’s a library door to the left and the hostel is in the far right corner. Laura the host will be in the library.

Today, we were sent to another albergue due to problems with water supply. You can try to call there in advance just to make sure they will accept you. I guess it will be just a short term problem. (April 1st, 2024)
