The host was so sweet, did not speak much English but let us see the rooms before staying! We stayed in a private room with our own SUPER nice shower (Towels and soap provided!!!) we then were served a full meal with dessert and wine. They locked up the Albergue and gave us breakfast to-go for the morning. We were the only people this night and had the courtyard all to ourselves. Clothe line provided in the courtyard to dry items as well! Pretty decent trek from Leon but makes the day to Astorga shorter! Definitely worth the stay!

Place was clean and staff was very friendly.
Offers pilgrim dinner at around 7pm and everyone eats together. Great experience

I had a great stay here! The hostess was very nice as were the rest of the staff. There is a relaxing courtyard were several pilgrims spent the afternoon socializing. Pilgrim dinner was OK and the breakfast was a to-go bag that was given the night before.
Very quiet town with not much else in it.

Cotton sheet/pillowcase, wooden bunks that don't squeek and are tall enough to sit up on the bottom bunk.
Clean facilities. Soap in the bathroom sinks.

The food was good. The staff, friendly. Beers cold.
Good laundry facilities.

I'm very pleased w the 12€ cost for a litera

We stayed in the private room upstairs and the owner carried my bag to the room.
The tap beer from the bar was cold and came with a side of nuts and olives.
Dinner was by far the best Albergue meal we’ve had. It started with a huge portion of Paella then to our surprise came a fresh salad. Then came roasted chicken with a yummy sauce. Then there was a beautiful custard dessert. Everyone was blown away. The entire table was quiet as they gobbled down the delicious food!!
The rooms are clean and fresh. What a wonderful experience!!

We stayed in a private room for 2 people at the end of April 2023. The room was very nice with a private bathroom. The hosts I met were 2 very kind young people.
They cooked a family dinner (I think it was 14 euro) for the pilgrims of paella, roasted chicken, green salad and a desert. They also offer tortilla and sandwiches during the day.
Very nice and clean place. They offer a laundry machine and a drier or a large drying space to hang your clothes.
I did not see any supermarkets in the town though.

Immaculate albergue, delicious dinner. Highly recommended!

Camino de Sant…

We can not recommend this albergue. It says here that it has a kitchen, but that is wrong. There are a kitchen, but pilgrims may not use it. After a lot of talking we where aloud to borrow two glasses, to plates and som cutlery. But we had to return them after 1 hour. We tried to book the room through telephone, but it was impossible to get a 100% confirmation. We called again the next day to confirm the booking, because we had walked all the way from Leon. That is 30 km. But again impossible to get a confirmation. I said that we where to arrive at 6pm. The lady who owns the albergue meant that it was to late to arrive at 6pm. After the conversation, we did not know if we had a place to sleep this night. When we arrived she had held the last bedroom for us. Lucky us. But we could not use the washing machine, because after 5pm, it was not aloud to use it. Why???? This is an albergue. The bathrooms are small and no place to hang your clothes. There are no possibilities to buy or make your own breakfast on sundays. And the shops are closed. IF POSSIBLE GO TO THE NEXT VILLAGE! The owner just wants to make money. Very rude and impolite. We does not feel like guests. We feel that we are in the way.

Camino de Sant…

Everyone has their own experience. I have stayed twice, in September 2016, and 2018. I had a private room the first time - very nice and reasonably priced. I had a bunk the next time. The bathrooms were clean and well located. The food was good and adequate. A small tip - I forgot my poles on the second visit and the doors lock behind you as you leave. Luckily another early bird, a Korean, had not left so I ran back and he let me in. I had to wait otherwise, as everyone else was still asleep.
It’s worth having a short break at Mazarife and continuing on to this place.
