Small town with little more than a church, an ermita, and a truck stop restaurant with a reputation for serving up some decent hot chocolate. The only albergue in town is also the first house you come to, and the hospitaleros are wonderful.

History

The town gets its name from the born-here Francisco Delgado López, before that it was known as Villa de Pun. Francisco served as the Bishop of both Jaén and Lugo and was one of the most respected Counter-Reformation theologians at the Council of Trent.

What a gem! Restful gardens in the back. Washing machine or hand wash. Fabulous clothesline across the road in the sunshine and breeze. Meal was delicious and homemade. Vegetable soup, stewed beef and boiled potatoes. Not fries.
The Albergue is so clean.
Highly recommend.

This Albergue is a welcome oasis!! Every attention to detail has been made. So friendly and absolutely relaxing. Very windy so your clothes dry fast!! Thank you for having me. Caroline from Western Australia

Oh boy, what a wee gem this place is. Excellent hosts. Spotless rooms and beds. Beautiful garden out the back. An older house recently refurbished and updated. I could honestly stay a week. Highly, highly recommended.

What a warm welcome in a quiet village. The house was so beautiful and the rooms so clean and big, the garden was a picture and the food was delicious! Could not have staid at a nicer place.

Generous and delicious menú del día for 15 €. It’s 100 meters off the Camino across the highway. It was full of people (truckers, pilgrims, and locals) and yet the service was quick and smiling.
