Santa clara

One of the most authentic albergues. It was clean and quite modern. We got pilgrim pack of bed sheet and pillowpack. We came at 13 and we were first. Good price 10€. Also you can get a locker key for 1€.

Pros:
- Good price
- No bed bugs
- Nice chill zone
Cons:
- No reservations
- Can be loud because of snoring
- Small kitchen
- One toilet, shower for 7 people

We arrived early, we're 2nd ones in the door. They did open the doors at 1:30 and allowed us to check in early. We got the only double bed, our daughter in the single bunk above us. Very clean. Accommodates 25 people in 3 rooms. Very nice large common area and open rooftop deck. Washer and dryer on-site. 5 single showers and toilets.

allegedly has 25 beds and takes no reservations. we were sitting in the cafe across the street to watch the Albergue from 13:30 on, door got unlocked around 14:15 (so 45 minutes before check-in), we were the 3rd and 4th person who went in and the two in front of us got the last two beds because "there is a big group coming"?! how does that work with "no reservations". we got sent to the host's friend apartment to share with 4 people (and just 2 double beds) and paid 25€/person. the apartment was fine, but 1km away from the Camino to Vila do Conde and the whole process was quite unfair.

You must arrive before 2pm. They actually only have 17 beds. Many people got turned away but if you arrive early it's a good place to stay. Nothing special but clean and well accommodating.

Can't ask for a better price. We did try to hurry and arrived at 2:20 to queue for 3:00 opening. Four of us got beds 18- 21 of the 25 beds available. Beds are a bit tired and so are the sheets but considering the price, one gets what one pays. Great terrace and big common area to hangout. Very small kitchen but sufficient. Location is great for restaurants and groceries.

Very nice alberge and the lady. When we arrived around 18:00, we had the room to ourselves, afterwords people gathered. Clean, spacious kitchen area and terrace. Lild in town for grocery shopping.
Recomend staying.

Nice clean alberge just as you enter the town. Wery calm and not crowded, but that iis to be expected in oktober, I guess. Small kitchen, laundry machine and dryer. Pilgrim dinner at the corner and nice restaurants at the port. We were directed to a bakery for a nice breakfast. I would definitely stay there again for 8 euros. Maggi

Camino de Sant…

I tried to stay here based on the below comment and discovered it has apparently been closed for 2 years. The lovely lady arranged other places for people to stay though (although at a higher rate than the albergue will have been. But after waiting for quite some time, there were some very unhappy pilgrims. The sign on the door doesn't say it is closed.
