At the far end of Askizu the camino forks at a house, turn right. The trail here affords excellent views of the sea. It will begin to descend, passing the Playa de Santiago far below. At sea level it rejoins the N-634 along a pedestrian walkway into Zumaia.

The walkway bears right at the river to cross along a foot bridge. Once over the bridge it turns right through a small park to arrive at another footbridge over a different river and into the old town of Zumaia.

Great people, great vibes, great food, great views!
Highly recommend this location - qualified more as an agroturismo. It’s not an albergue, as they only have double or triple rooms. But for only 25€ per night, the quiet and privacy is welcomed.
3-course pilgrim dinner for 15€, but if you happen to arrive on a Sunday, I highly recommend the 12€ paella and a 6€ Basque sidra (cider)!

As of May 2024, the price is 20€ for the bed and 15€ for the dinner. Laundry is free to wash and then they have plenty of line space, but you'll need your own pins. No bunk beds, which is amazing, and rooms of 2 and 3. Honestly, this was one of my favorite albergues on the Camino so far. The vibe was just so great and the albergue is super comfortable (if not a smidge overpriced). cash payment only

Got a room for 3 people, small town but charming. Nice beds and great bathrooms. Lady and Husband were very friendly. Food was great with 3 course meal. Church as under restoration but was very beautiful.

Owner is very helpful. She prepared a vegetarian meal for us. We got (each) a private room. With meal (plus wine) and breakfast we paid 30€ each. Very clean and on the camino!
