New albergue with all facilities. Clean. €38 for bed, clothes washed and dried, large beer, LARGE plate of chicken risotto and piece of fruit. Path to hospitales route right next to albergue. Took me about 30 minutes to get to that route this morning 20/08/2025

Nice new building, clean. The people running it are nice. It's only 1.7km to connect to the Hospitales route and it's well marked with yellow arrows. Very comfortable beds and nice showers. They have a beautiful terrace and free mini golf outside.

They only downside was the food, it's lacking. Dinner was a tiny side salad, bread, a hot rice dish (rice, a few small vegetables and mushrooms, and only flavoured by garlic and onions), water, and dessert choice (vanilla caramel creme, a yogurt, an apple, or a coffee). For €12 it was disappointing but you literally have no choice in this village. People I met on the trail said breakfast was lacking (only coffee and cake for €4) but I didn't have it. I think this place would be amazing if they improved the meals.

The rooms were large, comforters offered, lockers available for use. Washrooms were clean with lots of hot water. The staff was very helpful snd friendly. The supper was delicious and large quantities offered should you want seconds

Run by a young couple who obviously care about delivering a terrific experience. She cooked a delicious and enormous dinner.
And from here you have best optionality to check the weather forecast in the morning and see if it makes sense to go up to Hospitales or hike the longer lower way around

without any places to stay in borres( rough smell in town) we were glad we pushed on away from borres...there is an easy access( shortcut straight up from town to hospitales route...this saved us several kilometers...very clean new albergue..
