I stayed here last September and also in 2022.
I am dismayed to see negative comments from "pilgrims" complaining about African immigrants.
I actually sat with a group of young African men and heard firsthand some awful stories.
All of them wanted to work but felt stuck.
I asked what it was like in the camp.
Their reply was that it's okay short term, but they would like to move on to get jobs and make lives for themselves.
They were aware that many "pilgrims" look down on them and don't like sharing the camp with them.
So much for the Camino spirit where we are all equal.

Three of us stayed here last night, and it was perfectly fine. In a large park, built with lots of buildings like army barracks, rooms with two bunk beds and bathroom, so 3 of us had private room effectively. Clean with cloth sheets. Meals are in adjacent bar and delicious!

Albergue is opened. There are a lot of beds (some parts were closed but opened ones were enough for us). Very nice and fast laundy - 1 hour and 8 euros for washing+drier. Good amount of toilets, sinks, etc. 8 people per room. Blankets available. Food at the restaurant - got pasta Bolonese, I think the worst in my life. Big portion but tastes like paper. Not sure for the rest in menu. Just before entering the complex there is a restaurant - sorry forgot the name - which I had lunch at and recommend 100%.

I have just been assured by the municipal hostel in Arzua - where I am staying tonight- that the municipal albergue in Monte do Gozo is open (and still has 400 beds).
