It’s basic but welcoming. A great pilgrim
experience with communal meal serenaded b a guitar. Met some fabulous people here - shared food leads to shared conversation. Beds are quite crammed in and showers needing a refurb but despite that it’s lovely!

This felt like one of the most authentic Camino experiences I’ve had so far. The place is simple but the host Bruno takes on the true Camino attitude of helping pilgrims. I stayed here the night of the April 2025 blackout (makes for a story). Even with no power and 36 hungry pilgrims, Bruno still pulled off an amazing dinner and made everyone feel at home. Thank you Bruno!

(Stayed at the end of the September 2024)
Amazing stay here! My friend and I enjoyed our stay at this albergue and still talk about it as our favorite night on the Camino. It made for the perfect shorter walking days between Pontevedra and Caldas de Reis. As others have mentioned, it is a bit more rustic than other albergues we stayed in but clean and well taken care of so no issues for us. We loved the opportunity to connect with other pilgrims especially during a wonderful communal dinner. The host, Pedro, was very accommodating and welcoming. I really felt the spirit of the Camino here. Sent a message one day before on WhatsApp to reserve beds and was sent detailed instructions for check in (make sure to bring cash).

This was the first municipal/volunteer-run albergue I’ve stayed at and I thought it was fine (but not an experience I need to repeat - done!) The beds are plastic mattresses and the sheets they gave me were still warm from the dryer, so I trusted that they were clean. There is 1 shower in the women’s room and it’s private. The pilgrims meal was lentil (tasty) or vegetable soup and boiled eggs and bread and red wine (all donativo). Our host, Pedro, told us about the tradition of pilgrims meals and read out all 11 countries represented in the room that night. I thought it was a nice experience and was happy it was clean. Stay here if the walk from Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis is too long for you.

Pedro the vounteer was very helpful. The dorm was full but I had a mattress on the floor.
Everything rustic but wholesome. A basic evening meal was cooked and red wine provided.
Donations for bed and food.
13 different nation around the table. Incredible.
A true pilgrim experience and the best so far on my camino.
Thank you.

The albergue is rustic and has basic facilities, but don’t let this put you off. For the first time on this Camino the hostelier hosted a lovely basic pilgrims meal in the true tradition of the Camino. If nothing else this is an experience not to be missed
