Hostel may not meet the requirements of everybody, but beside the guy looks (and I guess) lives a bit like good old catweazle his is very friendly and offered dinner and breakfast you definitly can‘t complain about.
And never forget, it‘s an Donativo Hostel. Todo bien.

The most perfect thing here was a bed. Not bunk bed but normal bed for human beings with sheet and warm blanket if it’s needed. The bathroom is also very clean with hot water. The hospitalero is an old man and the food he served for a dinner was a little bit insufficient…. noodles soup with frozen vegetables and rice with something….. the breakfast was also very small…. Just few slices of bread with jam… but if you’re an alcoholic you can drink some shots after dinner or after breakfast….

Für mich war die Albergue und der Gastgeber unangenehm und ungepflegt. Ich schließe mich den letzten Kommentaren an. Das gleiche Fertig Essen, das Fleisch wurde für mich aus der fertigen Paella zur Seite gelegt. Ich hätte mich über mehr Sauberkeit gefreut, statt eine Kette und einen Spruch zu bekommen.

I arrived on the 18th of May.
Checked out the kitchen (as previously advised) and left.
I couldn't believe how filthy it was.

I arrived with two friends and we were initially impressed with the bedroom and toilet/shower facilities
Later, we went into the kitchen area and were surprised and appalled at the filth.
Everything was dirty and unhygienic.
The male hospitaliero has a superficial charm but he is dirty and uncaring in reality.
We took the chance to have the communal meal which turned out to be substandsrd to say the least.
We started with thin packet soup followed with paella rice virtually lacking in paella.
Next came a thin nondescript desert served in a shot glass.
All washed down with another shot glass of alcohol.
The albergue is municipal supplied by the local authorities.
The bricks and mortar are great but the behind the scenes situation is dire.
Before booking in I suggest that you check out the kitchen......be warned.

What a lovely experience to be at this albergue. The voluntarios are so special and made us feel so welcome.
Do not miss the albergue and leave a big donativo!!!

Evening meal (with homemade liqueurs), breakfast (with homemade jams) and a comfortable bed so no complaints from me. Donations were mentioned but there was no pressure, and no signs. The place was pretty much full and everyone left happy in the morning.

Somewhat intense in the sense that the hospitalero wants the albergue to remain donativo, so has signs everywhere reminding us of the importance of donating. Generally ok

A gern as said of the old way; however the constant reminder of donation is not nice. We generally give more than the paid Alburgue as a way to support the establishment. But i don’t like a survey of what you want to cut to keep low cost. He might as well charge a fixed price.

. but obviously many feel donativo means free so he has been forced to put up many signs reminding people to donate which is a little off putting. That said, he was very kind and generous with many home made pilgrim gifts The cup of tea waiting for us was excellent and the food very nourishing. Probably wouldn’t suit if you are a clean freak but we enjoyed our stay there. Heating was great.
