Everything about O Lagar de Jesus captures the heart of the Camino. The owner greets you warmly and takes an interest in you and your story. There is lots of common space to relax and hang out. The community dinner is wonderful. Great food and great conversation.

This proved to be one of our favourite stays due mainly to the amazing BBQ we had for dinner. The building is magnificent and the dormitory was large, spacious and clean but sadly we were only one of five and it’s a shame there weren’t more pilgrims to share this experience. Yes it was quite expensive but compared to English prices it was still very good value. Even though we left at 5.30 in the morning to get to Santiago for the mid day service breakfast was still provided.

We decided to splurge a little toward the end of our Camino and this was the perfect place. Most welcoming host with good food, hot showers and comfortable beds. Yes but is a dorm but oh so beautiful. My favorite of all the wonderful accommodations throughout our adventure

Gorgeous spot set in a 19th century wine factory. Elijah was a superb host and created a great atmosphere to facilitate interaction amidst pilgrims on the eve of reaching Santiago.
The facility is laid with character and is extremely comfortable. There is a pool and a beautiful common lounge for guests to use. Was nice to be accommodated for a vegetarian meal as well. I recommend this place for value, character and comfort.

The price has been raised again but this time to €30. Like others have said, it doesn’t offer much for the price tag but it seems the owners are new. The meal was ok, and drinks were not included with the prices. Drinks were also more expensive than other albergues. It was communal though and that was nice to connect with other pilgrims before walking into Santiago. Regular bunk beds, no plugs for upper bunks and bottom bunks are reserved for 50+ years old. Included breakfast was bread, apples and yogurt. Lots of potential and I hope they increase the value of the albergue. Owners seem nice enough.

I’m sure what the previous comments were talking about, but the new owners seem to have sorted all these issues out if there were any. This was easily the best place we stayed on our Camino. Excellent dinner, good people, nice pool, and clean/fresh accommodations. Anyone can take this for whatever grain of salt they like, but i personally had a deeply profound religious and spiritual experience here. I will forever be convinced an Angel was watching over me the night i stayed here. Saint Martha pray for us!

Okay. So this place is a little, I don’t even know how to put it. Yes, the setting is amazing. The building is just awesome and so is the space outside. The pool is a nice extra. However… it’s a normal bunkbed situation. For € 27, incl breakfast. The airconditioning system didn’t work. Breakfast set up was nice, though incomplete (like, no plates. No bin). € 3 for a beer or glass of wine at dinner. Which was good, and communal, which is extra welcome on the last night before Santiago. I’ve understood that the place was recently taken over, it just seems the new owners (who are perfectly nice!) don’t quite have if all together or figured out just yet. Would recommend, mostly for the long table dinner set up and afternoon snoozing under a tree.

We stayed in the private room.
From the moment the owners/managers arrived it was completely disorganised.no tidying up from the night before had happened in the communal areas and our room wasn’t ready. We had pre booked 3 vegetarian meals and were told (in an offhand manner) that we could have salad. The breakfast was a few pots of warm yoghurt and stale bread and cake. To top it off , my friends were bitten by bed bugs.

When you are looking for a place to stay between Padron and Santiago, I want to tell you my experience.

I booked a room in O’ LAgar de Jesus about 5 km after Padron.

I made the booking via their website and I had to confirm this with my Mastercard.

The day I arrived, they made me pay the stay (€ 25) which I did. Being on the Camino, I didn’t really check my bankaccount.

After getting home, I found out that they also charged my Mastercard. I wrote them a mail to explain them about this double payment. They asked me my bank details so they could refund me.

So I did, but no refunding. I sent them several mails and evidence of the 2 payments but since then no reaction and no refund.

We loved staying here at this attractive stone albergue. 2 spacious dorms, welcoming hosts, bar and fabulous 3 course communal meal. Great value. Outdoor areas and pool. Living room with comfy couches and fire. Made a great way stop before finishing our Camino. 💛
