Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Sign on the door saying they were closed. Don’t make the mistake we did of going the extra distance without calling or messaging first.

Just off the Camino. It’s not far to walk and is awesome! Great food, kind and helpful staff. The beds were nice and clean and the facility was peaceful.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this albergue in the last 5 years and the second time I’ve been given a 4-bedded dormitory to myself. They seem to open as many dormitories as needed to give solo travellers, couples and small groups a dormitory of their own. A lovely touch and much appreciated.
The albergue is beside a road but it’s not a busy one and the grounds are extensive, filled with apple trees, chestnut trees, kiwi vines, shaded benches and tables. So plenty of peaceful places to relax. It has a cafeteria serving a good choice of healthy food, a separate large dining room and a fully-equipped kitchen for those who want to cater for themselves.
Susannah on reception is lovely, quiet and helpful.
If the Camino has taught you the gift of gratitude, I think you’ll be grateful you walked the extra few hundred metres to get here. I’m certainly glad that I did.

The turn off the Camino is actually at km 34.170 and the Albergue/Pension is a short 600 meters away. We had a lovely and spacious room for two. The bunk rooms looked clean and comfy. We enjoyed local wine and beer bought on site and had yogurt and fruit for breakfast in addition to
the usual tostados. I would recommend this place, especially if you want to go further than Arzua and away from the masses for a night.

It says it’s only a few meters off the path but it felt much further. After a long day of walking - going down to then cross over the freeway and back up a hill is not worth it. No peregrino dinner only single menu items. Would not recommend. Save yourself the extra kms & keep walking on the path.

Camino de Sant…

Walk until km 34.155 and then turn left into a paved road. The road crosses directly the new highway in construction

Camino de Sant…

Slightly of the Camino- got a bit worried looking for the dirt track, it’s now a proper paved road. This is a great alternative to crowded Arzúa, nice food and a great garden to relax in- definitely worth the extra 600meters. It was rather quiet but our Camino family got our own dorm rather than sharing with a solo traveller the way most albergues seem to do, which was a really nice touch.

Camino de Sant…

Not much to write home about, functional. On a busy road, and food options were not great. Just walk a bit further and there's a much nicer place that is open as at July 2021, Taberna Vella, that has a lovely café in front, Taberna Nova.
