Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Unless you are super fit or pushed for time why not take two days to get from Pontevedra to Armenteira. Otherwise it’s a long day with a steep climb up on tired feet in the hottest part of the day if you’re walking in the summer. We were glad we did this and it gave us time to explore Combarro, a fascinating village albeit a little touristy during the day. Much more civilised in the evening with plenty of restaurants to choose from. We stayed at the Hotel Combarro a short walk from the centre. This doesn’t look promising from the outside but has been newly renovated inside. Very friendly and efficient staff, a beautiful garden and swimming pool and did all our washing overnight. Best breakfast we had on this trip. Whatever you do use the facilities in Combarro. An excellent large supermarket and cafe/bakery just beyond where the Camino leaves the main road. No food or water between here and Armenteira.
