The Road

The path through Oia takes you past all of the important stuff; first the Casa Puerta, then the restaurant, and then the Monastery of Oia.

300m beyond the Monastery the camino turns left to follow a coastal footpath and always keeping to the shoreline. You will eventually return to the road, and when you do the familiar bicycle path is there once more, follow it to the left and into Viladesuso.

Absolut empfehlenswert.
Fühle mich hier absolut wohl.

Getting excited for the 2023 season and looking forward to meeting new and returning pilgrims, thank you for the kind reviews and welcome to LaCala from Tanya Mia and Cissy the cat ❤️

We arrived at La Cala Inn after a long walk from Vila do Praia Ancora and had a lovely stay. The room we were in (3 beds) had beautiful views of the sea and the town. At €20 it was a little on the expensive side, but we had free use of the washing machine and dryer as well as fresh pastries and coffee for breakfast - a bargain really.

Really beautiful town to stop off in. Could be a good option for a rest day.

Friendly place to stop for coffee. Complementary sweet bread and view of monastery.

Camino de Sant…

This is one of the most wonderful stops on any Camino. The sunset over the Atlantic with the view of the Monastery was spectacular. And Tanya’s accommodations are definitely a cut above the normal albergue with fresh bed linens and all the amenities of a hotel. Great local reataurant and Tanya’s Vibo de la casa is premium. A must stop on Portuguese Way.

There is another play to stay that is not listed. It's call La Cala - Pilgrim Inn. Charges 20 euros/night. It was a renewed old house with full kitchen, bathrooms and pretty much everything new. Tanya is a great woman from Colorado, and her dog Mia is awesome. She offered us wine and also free of charge laundry.
It was a great place to stay!

Camino de Sant…

Not a lot of ATMs in the area! Make sure to get cash in A Guarda!!!

Camino de Sant…

Just another vote for staying at La Cala. Tanya is a wonderful host and the place is sparkling clean. Her pup Mia is a sweetie too :)
