This albergue is located at the back of a village church. Be aware that it is located at the back of the village, so after the steep descent there is still quite a walk. We arrived when it opened and the attendant kept providing beds for the people who showed up. The last to arrive had to sleep on a mattress in the hallway. A breakfast of toast with jam and coffee is provided and the rooms consist of single beds with divider-screens and lockers. There also were bamboo canes which came in handy the next day. A restaurant in town offers dinner for 15 eu. It was possible to get some food from the local supermarket (I was there on a Friday) and the village was very lively in the evening.

We stayed at the Covento Padres Carmelita’s. The hospitaleros were very struck, but had to be to
Keep things running smoothly with all the pilgrims. We were recommended a restaurant with a pilgrim meal that was close by and delicious.

Bless the hospitaleros we had mid May! They made room for everyone who came to the door and we were MANY the night I was there. They were extra kind to me as I arrived in tears. Honestly, I'm guessing they're used to at least one pilgrim crying upon arrival per day with how hard the stage is!

Lovely reception by the hosts.
No kitchen but there is a kettle and fridge and an area with tables and chairs.
Everyone has a locker for your rucksack this includes a power point. Make sure you have €1 for the locker which is returned. Don’t take rucksacks into the room.
Local restaurant Vega provides a good pilgrim meal, its bar opens early which is a good thing because be prepared to be woken up about 6:15 with loud music at the Albergue.

This place is very well run.
Clean and comfortable.
I was very impressed.

Big grocery store nearby and you are welcome to use the donativo’s refrigerator.

Breakfast is also offered by donation.

The donation box is by the register table, feel like it’s expected to put donation while check in rather than later. 10 e is fair (they also provide tea, hot coco, and bread and jam in the morning) . But it’s understandable seem like after Covid many albergue are having difficulties to stay open also sounded like recently more pilgrims are not paying. This albergue is a popular one and it has big supermaket next to it, so best is to arrive before 4.

Hospitalero is a bit rough but big hearted. Big handshake upon departure. We paid €10 each, someone attempted to pay €20 and was rejected as too much. Common area to eat, no kitchen but refrigerator. Coffee, toast, butter, jam was provided in the morning at no additional charge. Nice stay v

Clean, community room for eating. No kitchen. Donation, we left €10 each. Someone offered €20 and was not accepted as too much. Nice location, places to eat near by as well as grocery store. Blankets but no sheets, just pillow cases. Rec’d.
