Marsolan is a well-preserved Gascon castelnau -- a village that grew up around a medieval castle between the 12th and 13th centuries. You can still see remnants of the original castle stonework at the corner of the current town hall. The 16th-century church of Notre-Dame du Rosaire overlooks a small square with views across the Gers countryside, and on clear days you can pick out the Pyrenees along the southern horizon. A restored Roman fountain sits in a green area nearby. Services are minimal.
