The main woman at reception is SO helpful. She aided us with drying wet shoes, calling Spanish airlines and booking another night after returning from Finisterre. The beds and curtains were excellent. Top bunks could use a rail, but everything else is great. The location is just outside the Camino bustle with artisanal bread, supermarket, & farmacia nearby. Also the start to the Muxía path is across the street. I recommend Blanco completely.

I stayed here two nights. Great location, 10 minutes walking from the Cathedral. Very clean and comfortable. Loved the privacy curtains, light and plug, and roomy lockable locker. Separate m/f bathrooms, roomy and clean. They will do your laundry for you, wash, dry (not folded) and returned to your bed for 6 euro!

The help I received from the hostess was invaluable. I needed a taxi to get to the bus station to catch my bus to Portugal to catch my plane home. I didn't think it would be hard to hail a taxi so I didn't schedule in advance. Turns out it was VERY difficult. The hostess at Blanco totally saved me. She made multiple phone calls, finally finding someone to pick me up, and when the taxi got stuck in construction traffic on the way to get me, called back several times to check on his progress and even stood outside with me to wait. I could tell she was genuinely concerned and invested on my behalf. Fortunately thanks to her I made the bus with minutes to spare, made my plane and got home as scheduled. She even messaged me later to be sure I was OK! Although it was stressful, it was also a great last and true example of the Camino provides. It's really not the Camino itself, but the people one meets along the way, that make it so. My thanks to her, great experience ❤️

This alburgue is expensive but we are a 3 minute walk from the cathedral. Lockable lockers. And washing done for €6. You can't cook in the kitchen but there is a fridge and microwave and kettle and toaster. Bed it comfortable and has curtains for privacy. Seating area so you don't have to stay in your bed.
Victor is a very pleasant man who is very helpful

Not sure why it’s not showing the rest of the message and I can’t edit it. To add it again - I told him I could no longer make the reservation and he replied in Spanish, "Es usted una mala persona. Sin respeto a los demás. Una sinvergüenza. Vaya así por la vida que le irá muy bien." Which translates to, "You are a bad person. No respect to others. A scoundrel. Go through life like this, you will do very well." This is not how you communicate with people, doesn’t matter where you are! Let alone on the Camino from someone at an Albergue in Santiago. So very disappointed.

First time I’ve been so disappointed this year on the Camino. I am so happy we didn’t end up staying here. I made a reservation through what’s app (only way I could communicate) with Victor and shortly thereafter had to cancel it and I got told off. It was extremely rude and unprecedented. I communicated in Spanish in the chat and when I had to cancel, I was respectful about it. Never in my life have I been told upon cancelling a reservation:

"You are a bad person. No respect to others. A scoundrel. Go through life like this, you will do very well"

He wrote it in Spanish:
"Es usted una mala persona. Sin respeto a los demás. Una sinvergüenza. Vaya así por la vida que le irá muy bien"

So happy I cancelled because I can’t even imagine how we would get treated as pilgrims/guests! This is not the Camino way and not acceptable at anytime, on the Camino or not. Let alone in Santiago de Compostela.

Camino de Sant… (non vérifié)

Arrived a day early on finishing Camino and choose here just to stay for one night. Found it to be very dreary with very little natural light anywhere. Walls and floors are painted a mixture of green and red. No bright colours anywhere. Paint flaking on floor of showers. Washing clothes is in the sinks of the shower room. No hanging facilities for drying clothes except a very small patio area to the rear where you can throw them over a couple of wide bars (can’t peg). Lockers are provided along with towel. Curtains on beds but I felt cramped with general lack of space. The relax area is the lobby at the front but it isn’t a good place to chill. In summary, the least enjoyable place I’ve stayed in on the Camino

The location is very good, only 5 minutes from the office where Camino walkers pick up their Compostela. Nice clean rooms with private bathroom. Small efficient kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, and refrigerator. Good value compared to hotels in the area. Plenty of restaurants nearby also. City bus to airport for one euro ten to fifteen minute walk from albergue.

Small albergue with excellent facilities. Guests given door card so they can stay out after 2200. Drinks and snack machine, microwave. Victor a very helpful host. Bar 2 doors down excellent for food. Big Día supermarket 150m down road. Good choice in winter months.

Camino de Sant…

I want to say a tad bit higher price than it should be, but at the same time being located in Santiago is what makes it so. If it were a regular town along the camino I would hope it would be a tad cheaper. The other negative I had was it wasn't the most pleasant smelling in my room. Now granted, it rained, and we have pilgrims, so it may have just been from that, and the room itself may have been just fine. Its just a few minutes walk from the cathedral, and the lobby area is good. The beds themselves have privacy curtains as well as lights and plugs and there are lockers as well. The room itself was a diff layout, all the beds along one wall, and narrower than most hostels, but not overcrowded. Nice staff and lots of amenities nearby as well. Stayed Oct 2020
