Camino de Sant… (not verified)

The lounge area and kitchen is always a plus for me in albergues. The facility was clean, the dorms were spacious and I appreciated the bathroom area being separated by gender. There was also a laundry area. Hostess was friendly and bilingual.

As mentioned in the overview of the town, the penultimate stop can seem overwhelmed by pilgrims, especially after a less crowded and touristic Camino del Norte.
This albergue reflects that. Despite great hosts, it still feels very utilitarian, like it is just churning pilgrims through. The bunks feel like they’ll tip over as you get up (especially for guys), the curtains are thin and let light through, which is annoying when cars drive past in the middle of the night, and the social/kitchen area feels like a windowless dungeon.
The showers are great though.

The alberghini is 6 years old but seems to be much nearer than that with a nice area for sitting and a decent kitchen. Dormitories large and it is away from the main road but only about 3 minutes away from restaurants and supermarkets. I used booking.com to reserve a place which was a nice thing to know at the end of the day, that I had a guaranteed bed.
